Reserved Football Seats Available For Texas Tech Students

Texas Tech Athletics is once again offering a special reserved football season ticket for currently enrolled Texas Tech students. The Athletics Department is offering 1,000 seats in the purple and blue sections for this special deal. Texas Tech students can purchase two (2) reserved season tickets per ID at a 20% discount over what is being offered to the general public. For as little as $120, Tech students can reserve a seat for all six home games, including Texas, for the 2012 football season. The Texas game alone is $95, if offered at all, on an individual game basis.

This offer is ideal for students who are married, want to tailgate, want to sit together as a group of friends, or who simply want a reserved seat for the entire season. Athletics is providing additional sections outside of the regular student section to offer this opportunity and students are only eligible to purchase in this area if they have paid their athletics fee.

Because of the generous pricing in these areas, these seats will be the first to go when tickets go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, May 1. Students are encouraged to reserve their seats as early as possible beginning on May 1. In addition, students wishing to sit as a group should arrange to come in together to order their seats. This offer is good until the 1,000 seat limit is reached or the sections reach a sold-out status.

Tech Adds Talented Coaches To The Staff

Monday morning brought about the official news of staff changes to the Texas Tech Football program. Everyone associated with the program was disappointed with a 5-7 season and especially missing a bowl game. After a lot of contemplation, Coach Tuberville decided it was necessary to make changes to his staff to help strengthen our core nucleus so that this program can return to the post-season as soon as possible.

Matt Moore and Otis Mounds have been dismissed from the staff while Sam McElroy will relinquish his coaching duties. He is expected to remain on staff but his job duties have not been decided at this time. The good news comes in the replacements - Terry Price and John Lovett.

One of the things Coach Tuberville was looking for in the new hires was experience and intensity and he certainly got it. I’ve been told that both are excellent, hard-nosed coaches that aren’t afraid to stir things up. That type of intensity is always good for a football team so it will be exciting to watch them starting this spring.
